May 8. McMillan Ranch, San Luis Obispo County - about noon via Cholame flats to check a recently dead cow for Condor sign - negative results. At the ranch, collected 3-4 more great horned owl specimens, returning at 1515. Weather which had cleared during morning became threatening in early afternoon, with broken to overcast CO and SC, showers visible to NW, and strong turbulent wind.
