12 Near mouth of South Branch. [illegible] at creek level. 9 inches coarse white limestone. 4 inches fine grained with chert modules. 18 feet coarse white limestone Plicerosus gemmiformis Ollermus Long like Madonna some but more flat. 6 inches of white limestone more finegrained, more like Day town limestone. Total section = 14 1/2 feet. On the north side of the road where the stone is quarrelle for a stone crusher, it's edge is blue; the coarse grained character is not so readily noticeable unless the rock is carefully examined. Clinton 11. 12. On Clifty Creek north of Sandusky. Most of the pike at least 8 feet of cherty strata are exposed. At least half and perhaps more of the layers contain chert or concretions of cherty lode. Above this are at least 6 feet of lime- stone, well down partly the pike. It is believed that these typical lime- stone lodes of this exposure in the last experience. Clinton 12, S. Brown
