Barrow, Alaska
Must have been more tired than I had
realized. Slept late after going to bed
early. Spent remainder of 4.11. waxing
up or yesterday's biceps.
Right after lunch leased out for field.
Took Bill Beck's 2 boys along. Walked
the logs off on Pitelka's Plot - no trouble
after that. Again - Buff-Breasts all
around C+GS + O end of P's Plot. Collected
2 - both immature. All are feeding on very
dry liilan or sparse grassy form and
liilan slopes. Is there a reemergence
of adult insect activity??? Not much
else on plot. Set 3 owl traps, then
moved on past plot. Crossed Wohlslag
Slough - 1 Buff-Breast Her. Searched
farside of slough, then ridge by
Fertilizer plot... Nothing!
After dinner got a Hollands haircut,
then processed day's bill and fibers Tenaga
for yesterday for Willie Joe's lease.
Cool and very wintry fog - but clear.
