Spent evening in fjords around
Gasline Ridge. Saw ear-barks, phalaropes-
perip. Came in when good enough from
lift around 10:00 P.M.

Took some of AINA people out for
big look at tundra in morning with
Rich. Went out to Beach Ridge, near
CRAS and tried to look at birds as
they used film as fast as cameras
would run.
Afternoon escape alone to
Pitelka's Plot - zero - then Holmes'
Morass - roughly the same. Drove
up close to owl, but couldn't
get gun and self out hatch fast
enough. Dissee - wonder of wonders-
an immature white-rump, which
was promptly dispatched. Also
several black-bellies plovers, which
weren't.
Broke down and went to the
movie in the evening - not too boo, either,
then put up white-rump before retiring
to write a letter.
