to the base of Crowbill. Rovea around
the rocks, then bedded the bear and
walked up the bedcl (got soaked
later trying to get around a rock.).
Beautiful, sunny day. Concentrated
on getting pictures, also spent most
of the Day climbing up cliffs and
changing lenses. Took some pictures
of Murre at <15 ft., w/ 2 extension
rings + 300 mm. telefoto lens — just
heads in the frame. Will be interesting.
After near disaster on a cliff and
again on a steep snow bank returned
around Crowbill and stopped to
photograph pair of red foxes near
den. [Didn't mention this to others
to protect animals from Max' cages.]
Back to camp for late lunch
and trap check, then stayed by
camp waiting for plane. To arrived
after dinner with Felber flying and
Diko riding shotgun. Time for a
few words, then Felber and I were
off for Barrow. Stopped by Medoe
River en route to pick up (U.S.
Hawaii bug-hunter) Jackie Campbell.
Landed at Barrow under partial
overcast and strong, cold East
