Macken 1966 Tom arrived at Barrow from the Medoe and we Discussed Cape Thompson- specifically mouse trapping and mosquito trapping catching. I want to use mosquitos (as a readily available adult Dipteran) to test this discrepancy between Holmes' and my own insect weights. Will test final weights (and caloric values?) of samples treated with (following Holmes) 70% EtOH, 10% EtOH, direct oven dry, and (As U.S.A. procedure) freeze dried. After dinner did a few more stomachs, then went to social gathering at Rita Horner's. August Barrow, Alaska to Cape Thompson, Alaska Up for breakfast and lab cleaning, then rode into town with Riley to retrieve: camera left there. After conference with Director loaded traps, cages, camera equipt. etc. on truck, thence to N2146E, and after more delay took off with Joe Felsor flying and Tom riding for Cape Thompson. Good visibility below Barrow to Brooks Range. Flew over Medoe River camp, then to upper Noatak to drop supplies to U.S.g.S. there. Saw no owls or
