Maelia 1966 poor! Saw a total of 6 clutches of red backs - all with jwvs. just flying. Collected 2 adults and 2 young. Saw and collected 1 semi-pal. Not a single pectoral the whole trip! Phaldrops were flocking very actively. Collected 4 from a flying flock. Spent much of the day turning drums for cardibios. Got a total of 77- mostly from one set of cd. 15 drums. Why the congregation under these particular drums? I know not. They looked just like any others. I now have over '1/2 the needed 300 for 1gm. dry weights (assuming Holmes' weights are correct). By the time we got around to heading for home snow was falling, and for a while it remained on the ground. Cleared up some soon thereafter, however, and turned into a beautiful evening. Was very much impressed by the floral volume and diversity below Stevovik - far more than at Barrow. We walked along the North end of Sungowook - only longs purs, but many different kinds of flowers. Took Eowa home around 11:30-
