Mackenzie 1966 muddy and difficult travelling for wessel. Checked for Den - animals either abandoned or not home. Walked along ridge without seeing much, then turned toward home. Had to clean much from wessel while Eona dug up flowers on the way back. Went to the Sunday Dinner and movie (my first of the year, and it wasn't worth it), then went out to check traplines II, III, VII, + VIII. Took Jr, Beverly, Sidman, Max, and Bobby along. Jw. alpine in VII, and 2 long spurs in VI. II + VIII are very wet, and permafrost is deep. Excess water could -> deeper active layer, & me parée. Seems that way. Drove Eona into town and picked up spectacled eider, then returned and worked on Tanglefoot slats until 4:00 A.M. to be ready for Medde trip tomorrow. 18 July Barrow, Alaska Missed breakfast.
