MacLean 1966 picked up the lines I looked for Pedicia in the low flats North of the ridge. Not much success. Weather again could have been too cold, but it has me wondering what the life span of an adult tipulid really is. Although food can be very abundant, in bad weather food abundance suddenly drops dramatically. Enough to be critical? I don't know - I really don't think so. After a while gave up and walked area South of ridge. Saw only a pair of plovers. Then helped Tom pick up the rest of his traps and came in. 17 July Barrow, Alaska Up to count the rest of those darn Tanglefoots, then cleaned our messy lab (especially my messy corner). Glued up another set of boards, then went to Duck Camp to pick up Edna and went our to change boards. Stopped off at pustillus nest #8 - bird still incubating. Changed tanglefoots in cold, strong wind - bird activity low. After changing site II drove across Wohl slough. Road is very
