MacLean 1966 as possible for lunch, then proceeded specimens. Saved heads for later neurological work - 1/2 in formalin; 1/2 in Bouin's (to be switched to 70% EtOH). Spent late afternoon and evening in town for 4th of July celebration. Tremendous. Races and games in the afternoon. After Dinner at Eona's - ballgame between village and camp, then tug-of-wars between marrieds and singles. It all ended in a gigantic free-for-all soccer game between the marrieds and the singles. Arrived home pretty darn tired and spent the morning of 5 July Barrow, Alaska sleeping! Looked at yesterday's stomachs, then went out to the field with Tom. He set traplines VII and VIII in Central Marsh while I wandered in vicinity of Holmes' Morass. Cold wind was a-blowin', and activity was low. Walked to CEREL warigan, then East 11 Wdlslag Slough. Found another bird nest (4 eggs) W. of Lewellyn's Wier. Collected feeding observations on several species including a super-cooperative red- back, then returned to Beach Ridge
