Maches 1966 Beck regarding new masonite strips for Tanglefoot traps - without success. Went our to Voth Area - tom set lines at A-B while Niko and I walked to the west. Weather cold and windy, and bird activity again very bad. Saw a ♀ Stellar's Eider settle onto a nest. ♂ was still nearby - must be just completing the clutch. She sat tight - would not flush when we walked around the area. Crossed Village ridge to Village Lagoon. Finally found 4 Semi-pals and 2 quiet ♂ pectorals. Semi-pals were a little worked up - probably extra birds intruding or a settled pair. Collected a ♀ phalarope and a ♂ pectoral on the way back to the wedgel, then drove in. In the evening worked on today's specimens and notes, then walked into town. 2 July Barrow, Alaska Up early and drove out to Voth Area with Jackie Campbell - Univ. of Hawaii entomologist - to move her wino nets.
