Maches 1966 longspur west behind micro-met. Came in for dinner, picking up Mike en route. Spent the evening at the second Nalakatuk, for Dan Nusunguya's crew. Stubbed my toe on the blankets! 28 June Barrow, Alaska Rainy, Dark weather all day. Yesterday the wind turned through 270° - ample warning that something was coming. This, plus my stubbed toe, led me to spend the day catching up on notes and stomachs and reading. 29 June Barrow, Alaska Awoke to clearing weather, and by mid-morning it was clear and warm. Restored my bum foot in the morning, then took off for high area SW of Barrow Village. Picked up Eona en route. First stop was ca. 2 miles from village, at outer edge of trash ravins. Turnstones were frequent here around scattered drums, but became much less frequent as we left the drums. Saw a good chase of 4 or 7 pectorals here, and 2 displaying 0707 1/2 mile farther. This was the last of the species. Beyond the trash area the ground becomes strikingly consistent - well drained,
