MacLean 1966 a wild courtship flight. Other birds displaying and chasing - a lot of activity for 25 June. Crossed Voth Creek planning to do some collecting. got simultaneous feeding observations on red-back, turnstone, and pectoral but decided to go farther to collect. Actually heard a pectoral hoot twice - a rare sound of late. got into collecting territory, and found nothing! Searched both sides of gasline roads, then good marsh east of footprints lake without seeing a Calidrine. Two pairs of golden plovers and 3 F red-phalaropes! On return observed a red-back and chased a ? pectoral - probably the one seen before - without success. Finally gave up and came in, picking up Niko en route. Snow fell nearly continuously, if lightly, this evening. 3rd successive day we've had some snow. this could be related to poor activity this evening. 26 June Barrow, Alaska Spent morning on some much needed catching up with notes, and even in a moment of foolish exhuberance,
