Maclean 1966 with Niko. Much territorial behavior in baird's and semi-pals. Found two baird's nests that Niko had localized and a sanderling! Weather was cold, wet, and windy; Didn't mind at all coming in for lunch. After lunch and a nap, went out through drum area again with Tom. Activity as before. Found 2 baird's nests here, and 1 in beach ridge polygons, and localized several others. These, plus one Niko found this afternoon, makes 6 today! Saw very quiet group of 3 pectorals, and only 1 red-back. The close arm of beach ridge is very quiet - couldn't scare up the pairs that were earlier localized. Collected a very few feeding observations before coming in at 6:15. After evening repast went out toward Voth Area. Dropped Niko off in Britton's area to look for turnstone nests. Ran traplines 3a-3b with Tom with zero result in each line. Much semi-pal activity in Voth Area. Saw one good ground courtship - both wings raised, tail cocked, body horizontal, which resolved into
