it on my back. Finally - inspiration struck. Why bother with it on the back, anyway? Put it down - sample a few acres - then move a few feet and sample again. There is no real reason for widely separated samples. Took one bag full - then gave up as rain, sleet, and hail were falling and came in. Evening weather too rotten for productive field work, so went into town to see about more collecting bags. The seamstress went to the movie, so ended up playing "Snerts" and eating berry pie. 24 June Barrow, Alaska Forgot to mention - yesterday May wanted me to fly to Driftwood Camp, on the Utakok. Couldn't see much, So I turned the trip down. good thing - they had to turn back anyway. This morning there was a trip to Bettles, but again, because of weather, it wasn't worth going along.
