have Maria Alyeska make 2 insect
collecting bags for vacuum. Beautiful
warm, calm night - the once a
year variety. But wind the wind stops
at Barrow - something is coming.
Stayed too late, then fell into the sack,

Got 3 sack lunches and headed
for the interior with Niko and Tom.
Weather is cold and windy. Drove
directly to North end of Ikorovik via
Footprint Lake for first stop, then
on to Holmes' plot. Dear! Shorebird
activity was very bad. Saw 4♂ +1♀
Pectoralis below plot and a few red-
backs on the plot in walking the
entire length. Both species were
displaying sporadically - low intensity
interactions in pectoralis. Walked back
to N. end of plot closer to lake and
collected a few observations, a few
red-backs, and a red-back nest.
