Mackson 1966 collected while I was away. Included was a ♀ C. melanotos × C. fuercicollis. Interesting looking beast, showing characteristics of both spp. After lunch went out to Uoth Area with Pitelka and Niko. ♀ hybrid has laid at least 2 eggs, and they wanted to search systematically for the nest (Probable paternity a ♂ pectoral). They gave it a good effort, but failed. I went West, towards pond area and Village Ridge. Found and stalked a golden Plover nest (#2-4eggs) that had given me trouble before, then took feeding observations. Found a group of 6 reo-backs - both ♂♂ and ♀♀, but too much going on at the time for an accurate count. It is early for this sort of thing. Phalaropes - pairs still frequent, at least in this area, this won't be a big year, but there will be nests around. Two were found while I was gone. Searched all afternoon, and finally found 1 pair of pectorals - ever got two feeding observations on the ♀. Semi-pals were quite active. Saw 2 chases involving 4 biros, and frequent displays. Biros have remained active for a long period now - possibly a function
