Maclean 1966 in river terrace area that was, in land form, quite reminiscent of Bernard River, Banks Island, NWT, Canada. There semi-pals were down right dense, and Pectorals were better than the Camp side. Collected 5 semi-pals - all o7 (SN 502-506): 4 have well developed brood patches - other partially developed. Looks like (4) they are about done laying; zero (2) - there is a temporal pattern to incubator of the sexes. Also took 2 P Northern egg in - Phalaropes for comparison of stomachs with Red Phalaropes, and a Pair of Red Phalaropes (SN 507, 508). Funny business going on in the Reds - P has a regressed ovary and only 2 ruptured follicles evident (she was shot up - could have been more). o7 has partially developed brood patch; testes shot up. Surveyed bird populations there - found a 4 egg semi-pal nest; Ray found a pintail nest w/ 6 eggs; golden plovers acting like nest in the area. Came in and wrote notes to bed time.
