Macla 1965 Journal. Algeak fr + I got 9 with 3 shots as one flock. He was in m lagoon, we hunted from the ice, and could go after a large portion of the cripples across the ice. Saw many murres - one flight of ca. 20 seemed to be flying back and forth. 1 flock of c. 14 was a flock of Eiders low over the ice. Several black-legged kittiwakes - no flocks. 29 July Barrow, Alaska Out to C + 6.S., then went down the ridge and helped Hamilton set traplines VII and VIII in Central Marsh. Still very wet here - don't expect much. Did not see any shorebirds here. Left weasel for Paul and took other one over to North Maanow lake to check on "spectacles steller's eider" reported by Bob. Walked around ponds East of North Maanow lake without seeing the duck. In fact, without seeing anything but phalaropes. Collected two here of. In the evening went trap-checking via Holmes' Morass. Flock of golden pleves still here. VII + VIII absolutely darren - nothing seen, lamp, or trapped.
