MacLean 1965 Journal available, so spent the afternoon in writing field notes and packing box #1 of outbound books, etc.. Guess that commits me to leave. After dinner walked up to duck camp. Ran over to N. part of Holmes Morass. Saw non-breeding red-backs. Wow! 1 pr. golden plover w/ (unseen) young. 24 July Barrow, Alaska Miserable weather all afternoon. Slayer in cleaning up and B.S.'ing. Her bird watch from New York and had interesting discussion. After dinner rose into Brownville in weasel, then walked on in to devote evening to frivolity, etc.. 25 July Barrow, Alaska Never bothered going to bed - walked into camp with Eugene Brown; changed clothes and grabbed some chow, out to Binick for weapons, then back into town. Picked up James and Frank Matumeak, and finally were bound for the interior about 8:00 A.M.. Warmest, clearest, most brilliant day I have ever seen at Barrow - magnificent!
