Journal Journs to give egg count. After setting Dies near S. of Gasline Ridge wanna- tilling. Gos redback and 2 phalaropes. Found 3-egg phalarope nest. Weather greatly improves, so went out to Duck Camp again. Took boat up to mouth of Wohleslag Slough and took 12 eggs. Could not get more. Birds were flying at about 1 flock/5 minutes. Common seems to fly our over water more; kings our land - although too few observations to definitely say. All birds killed were kings. Saw many (ca. 20) loons, two Murres. Olo Squaws on water by ice in Clear Lagoon. 21 July, Barrow, Alaska Out to Micro-Mes area in afternoon. We have reached that time of the season...... nothing! Tundra is now very green - with no dead grass on top of the living it is very obvious - but no Shadbirds enjoying it. Too Bad. Went into town for ball game in evening, then walked back along beach. Saw several groups of murres, few Sabines, glaucous gulls.
