MacLean 1965 Journal Golden Plovers still here. Flock of Plovers in assortment of plumages Flying around S. edge of Marass. Not much feeling seen, for sure! 15 July Barrow, Alaska A day given over entirely to administration. North Star (DEWline VIP) party plus Barrow Utilities dedication. Spent most of day trying to help Sam Taalak survive it. He made it, barely! 16 July Barrow, Alaska Spent afternoon mopping up from V.I.P. visit, then writing notes. Sometimes I late field notes! After dinner went out through drum area to Micro-Mas and back. Quiet; very quiet. Few birds at nests; no real feeding. 17 July Barrow, Alaska Out with R.B.H. to Micro-Mas and N. Marass Lake and return. Spent time watching an incubating semi-pal from two feet away and b.s.'ing. Bird joined right in the conversation with frequent clumps. Saw few pectorals, esp. back in Micro-Mat marsh; more pectorals in Central Marsh. Old squaws on N. Marass Lake. Spent evening in town for ball
