found it surprisingly empty. Saw few
phalaropes, took one (Hamilton joins
the ranks of the slayers) plus 1
co-back. Finally wends our weary
way homeward.
Spent the evening working on
specimens + stomachs of today plus
Heronvik trip.

Barrow, Alaska
Sometimes Brewer can get a guy
mad. Asks me to spend an hour or so
just after lunch with Mr. Kenneth Dutt,
Carneige Museum. Ok, sez J. So
Brewer returns from lunch with Dutt
and his wife at 2:30! By the time
the tour was accomplished it was too
tale to bother going out so helped
arrange the library and transcribes
feeding observations.
Told Hamilton to take the evening
off and went our to run his traplines.
VIII + VIII devices of birds + mice. IV + VI
has 3 mice, 3 birds. Big evening, no?!
Clear, but cold (below freezing) with
winds blowing. Walked around Mares
a bit - could not find pre-backs previously
localized around CREEK wanigan -
