Maclan 1965 Journal 23 (±2) Dowitcles feeding in creek. Saw 3 Northern Phalaropes on way back to weasel. Ca. 100+ gulls (glorious) in Voth area. Not much else of note. Heard good pectoral loot along Voth creek as well as several red-back trills. 7 July Barrow, Alaska Magnificent, warm day. Played soccer with Bill Djundjek during lunch, and ended up our cobs from slats in the face. Blocked the slat tho'. After moderate recovery period leaves out Towards Voth Creek w/ P. Telka for to slay some peeps. Mosquitoes are supposedly our in force - worse I have ever seen at Barrow. Uncomfortable, with so off. Flock of Dowitcles feeding in creek, plus many phalaropes in complete assortment of plumages. Watched pectorals and few semi-pats along creek, then went 'inland' a bit to be sure I wasn't biasing data by limiting observations to creek area. Few birds seen supported these along creek. Returned and collected 3 pectorals for stomachs. Observed otters before being forced to return from lack of blood.
