weather - normal for 4th of July
celebration. Found golden plover
rest near CRREL warigan. Pair of
red-backs + pair of turnstones acting
rest-ish in same area. Paralleled
slough up to Elser Lagoon - not
much but phalaropes. Few shorebirds
seen were mostly preening or standing.
Found black brant rest w/ 4 eggs
by E end of CRREL transect. Found
dessicated remains of slender billed
(?) shearwater. Cut across Holmes'
Marass towards CRREL warigan to
return. Found area (1) saturated
(2) lemming cut (3) covered by
lemming fecal pellets pellets
furos! Lemming activity here is
total, and except for a few
phalaropes it is barren.
Returned via Central Marsh road,
nursing He lousy vessel. Spent
evening in town playing softball. As
usual, Village defeated Camp, 13-8.

Out with Hamilton toward
Micro-Met area. Pectorals in NACS marsh
further increase in number, completely social
in feeding. No evidence of territoriality seen.
