Journal as before - 2 ans 3♂ chasing 1♀, moderate amount of display, mostly just feeding. Flock of plovers now c.a. 11. Interesting - two flocks in same area - one made up of non- breathers and possibly early failures the other of newly arrived birds which are beginning breeding activity and still may breed extensively. This would not be unusual down South, but very strange up here. After feeding observations on pheasants continues on to Beach Ridge to again check to see if birds have occupied ridge. On the way found a white-rump near w1 4 eggs in ANCS Marsh. Found 1 pair of red- backs on N slope of ridge, probably at egg laying stage. Pair of pheasants farther E, nothing else. Apparently ridges are not going to produce this year. Went down into Central Marsh near C& 63 and found larger flock of pheasants than ANCS, about at same breeding stage. Still social, but aggressive interaction between ♂ and frequent chases and
