Maclan 1965 Journal traplines 1+2 with Pitelka and Hamilton. Pan sleebird transects, then putzes around area while they cleared trapline. Found Baird's left w/ 4 eggs - completely exposed orlichen covered mound on top of Gasline Ridge. Also makes jaeger near w/12 eggs E. of end of traplines. Came in ca. 10:00 to write notes. Another good melt day leaves very little snow on the tundra. Display of everything but pectoral has fallen dramatically in the past 3-4 days. All others are largely down, and some pectorals are likewise. 29 June Barrow, Alaska One of those says that Barrow sees too few of. Clear, warm, calm shirt-sleeve weather. The snow melt is now virtually complete, with only isolated patches of snow on very protected slopes and around buildings where drifts were deepest. The tundra is draining and drying at a rapid rate.
