Beautiful clear, warm weather.
Drove out towards Pitelka's Plot and
found Central Marsh has become
Central Lake. The cold water and
relatively warm air was causing a
dense ground fog pouring off of
every wet area; i.e.- all of central marsh
and Holmes' Morass. Was really
impressive, MacBethish, but knocked
visibility way down.
Checked for Curlew Sandpiper
but couldn't see much through the
fog. Walked straight across the
Morass. In a little over one day
it has gone from 90% snow cover
to 10%, and it is really wet!
The low polygons in the West end
are all flooded, and the entire
flar East end is under 4 to 6 inches
of water. The fog pouring off of
the water made observing near impossible.
East edge of the morass was perfectly
clear, due to the East winds which
moves the fog westward (for some
reason the lagoon was not fog
producing). Found a convenient dry
polygon and spent some time checking
