Maclan 1965 Journal emerging rapidly. 11 June Barrow, Alaska Spoke with Brewer this afternoon regarding time for field work. Asked for '1/2 time', and he agrees. Just like that! Have to make sure I take full advantage of this unexpected opportunity! Prepared materials for field preservation of stomachs - 10% formalin injected down esophagus. Weasel broken down, so walked through drum area to west end of Beach Ridge w/ DeBenedictis. Very little seen going out through drum area. In polygons at W. end of Beach Ridge (Stevens' plots) saw 1 Semi-Pal, at least 2 Baird's', 2 red-backs, 1 turnstone, 3 red phalaropes, 1 golden plover. Just about everything seems to be showing up; even if not [yet] in great numbers. De Benedicts sighted tree sparrow.
