Dark now at 8:00 P.M., the vegetation has lost all traces of green. Salix, esp. rotundifolia, is a bright orange. The grasses and seges are all brown or red. Skin ice is lasting well into the day. Saw a flock of snow-buntings and several glaucous gulls. Primary and retroix molt is very evident in the gulls. Set a line of 48 lemming traps
