Main street N & W. Line right N 72 E down the river, 20 ft 9 in from water to top of Lower Silurian limestone. Limestone section = 22 feet. B and 11 ft Valley. Distance 3 1/2 ft down stream. Tip of L. S. limestone 1 ft 6 in above water. ∴ Fall of 19 ft 3 inches in 3 1/2 ft. 19 ft – 19.25 ft in 3 1/2 ft. 312) 19.25 (.06.17 in 1 ft. 1872 6.17 in 100 ft. #536 312 2180 2184 Fall of 6.17 ft in 100 feet going N 72 E, 10 ft 7 in. of greenish clay shale with the upper 6 inches harder with Strephomena as in creek bore all. More shale 6 feet. Slate Sl., limestone = 22 ft Shale above the l. = 16 ft 7 in. greenish yellow pretty hard, with dust at top, 1 foot. Overlying limestone clayey and reddish. Coarse crinoid stems, 3/4 in. in diameter and orthoceras especially abun- dant between 7 ft 6 in and 8 ft 6 in. but also found below. At this level, 8 ft above Clinton? occurs also Carpo crinus, Litmites, Cyclocrema, Platyceras or Maerus 12 feet above Clinton is ordinary stone; Stiphleocrinus, Piascrinus. More solid limestone with plenty of small crinoids begins at 14 feet.
