Inc 83. 277 ft. Top of section. Base of Carboniferous, Section 11 ft probably clay shale. 11 ft clay shale 5 3/4 ft clay shale 16 ft iron ore in 2s. (in part) 2 1/2 ft of chalk enough thin bedded as 2 in wide Hard limbed 17 in long West of North street, this lath style of variety found 18 1/2 ft limestone fine large at town. This part curved, 35 ft clay shale nicely, especially 17 ft so. 33 ft curved. Work level. 490 - creek level cut 1.45 Inc 84. Dry? Distance? 650 at 2.35 PM. Inc 85 Off fl. 640 ft at 3.35 PM. Inc 86 665 ft at 3.45 PM Hurley ville. Inc 87. 735 ft. at 4.10 PM. S of R.C. Clark, immediately, dimensions roundable. Bored for oil on V.I. Burche's farm. About 5 years ago, went down about 14 00 ft. A man by the name of Carl Fleck sent us claim. He was not heard in company. A secret affair. Nothing to fear you about a big, Fleck who lives in Chicago. Not a man of wealth. The well of the well started about 62 ft below the top of the limestone.
