[illegible] 8 in. mine massive ss. 1ft 10 in shale as. 4 in mine massive ss 5 in shale firm as. 3 ft soft clay shale, thick. Bed 1/2 ft limestone, Ostracites, fossils collected, B 32 ft sticky ss + a few hard ss. layers, 11ft soft clay shale, 2 1/2 ft soft clay shale, 8 ft fairly hard ss. & some thin bedded as. 18 1/2 ft soft blue clay shales. 22 ft not exposed. 27th ft first exposed to bridge level. 5th Garfield St. top not seen. 6ft A 11ft Holly St. base not seen. Tertiary gravel at 860-870 at 11:30 AM. Tuesday, Aug 27, 1907 ss. layers, very exposed. Clay shale, soft, hard, thick. Mine ss., not well exposed. Bed E
