ment rock like that at Clifton, It slopes strongly eastward, and at the river there occurs plenty of white limestone with a little red intercalated at base, which is probably partly Roemer's bed. At the Landing a well 50 feet deep struck plenty of Black slate, and apparently lime rotten phosphate rock; depths unknown. [illegible] mile site, only whitish limestone like that along the river above the mouth of Wiles creek, is seen. R. S. Dany, Saltillo, has his all about Sherman ville blades. J. S.
