John Henry Johnson, 7 miles east of Savannah, Biscaypint bed faintly exposed with Microceramus Plutagnus form, etc. Col. Jim Smith. 9 mi. E of Savan-nah. Strike in front of house between house & road & along road: Brown limestone, across Boone Creek S. of road, 1/8 mi., limestone clear- more solid limestone above the clay, fossils forms beds. Above is sand & gravel. No Black shale or Waverly kept along road so far east due to Cutacens & Tertiary erosion, Belongs to John Boddin now - Col Smith's place. Hagler Mill is in Buffalo river, Bluff on east side, about 75 ft high, cross river at the mill = ford. About one mile and a half below Baker ville, about 5 miles from Bacherville to mouth of Buffalo. Ledbetter Landing, 8 miles from Holladay. Mr. Rize at Ledbetter has a store. I've wagon running in all the time here from Holladay. Can stay an night with Mr. Rize. Can stay with W. F. Harrison at Holladay, good place. W. F. Kuehn. 11/29 - 5th St N. goes in our department. Met his brother Gustav Kuehn.
