28 Cut, Astraeaspis ensicauda is found 16 ft. at the top of red rock, above a 5 ft. in- durated clay layer. Massive looking but spalling off ir- regularly. Cumberland City, 29 - Along RR West of John Bradus house 3 mi. S. of Farm. Just N. of crossing of main county road th Erin. In ascending order, going S. towards the crossing. In a cut is a thick section of the Clinton rocks of Chipton= Ordovician: badly decayed and recently reduced to drab stuff here but better preserved at one point along the RR almost 2 mi. from farm. 22 ft. White limestone, Clin- ton, like Dighton limestone, upper 12 ft with chert layers, Lower 10 ft massive. For- writes favours in an erratic part. 14 ft. Soft red clayey rock = As good, More whitish at base. Thickness may be 19 feet but there is probably a cause faulting here. 7 ft. Red limestone, with Stephano- nus Cypri-densis + Pizo-crinus gemini formis becoming less red + clayey above!
