Brode 1934 July 18 I gathered up my traps - finding very few animals near camp. The 10 traps set near the river yielded one Reithrodonomys megistus and one Peromyscus maniculatus. In the pasture, once in alfalfa, I got two Peromyscus maniculatus and shot two horned larks and a young Pigeon Jay. In the rocks and Atriplex I found a Bergomys longimembris panaminticus, that's a big catch out of 24 traps set. In returning to camp I noted signs and nest of Woodrats. Palmer and I went up to Morgans Ranch and set out gopher traps. I noted more mole workings than gophers. During the mid-day I put up skins. In the evening Palmer and I visited our gopher sets and found only one Thomomys bottae. On the way back I stopped off and set out 50 traps on the rock strewn rolling table land. I including some set traps where I had noted signs this morning. Set some traps where the rock was quite red - wonder whether the color of the mice will match. Found 2 Phossomys platyhinus mile setting traps
