Brode 1934 July 8 cont'd. including 2 Dipodomys microps levis and 9 Dipodomys merriami The latter were found well out from the river and in rather hard soil with a little sand. There was one Perognathus longimembris panamian tinus and one Perognathus that seemed somewhat to favor P parvus. I noted a pair of barn swallows. I discovered the nest in a canal culvert under the railroad track. Shot the male. I noted fresh gopher workings near the side of the now dry irrigation canal. I saw two Bewa heroras at fairly close ranges, some quail, magpies and robins. The day was fairly warm; a slight breeze made working skins comfortable. In the evening afternoon found an Ammospophilus leucurus in a trap left out from the trap line but it had been out in the hot sun too long to put up. In the evening the traplines were re- set, including two gopher trap sets. I set out 52 traps. July 9. Collected traps and found there Dipodomys merriami and Dipodomys
