Broke 1934 July 5 cont. from the base of the hill were signs of woodrat work one mouse trap had been dragged to a crack between rocks a distance of four feet. another mouse trap contained a Nestomys lepidus. A rat trap contained a Perognathus formosus. Four more of these pocketmice were in mouse traps at various points on up the hillside, and one was found on top. Two Dipodomys microps levisei were found near their workings on flat benches on the hillside and one was found well back on the flat top of the hill. One Reithrodonomys megaleotis was in a trap near the base of the hill. In a total of 33 traps set, 13 had specimens in them; 8 were tripped. 4 had bait removed but not tripped and 8 were untouched. Earlier in the morning I took a Peromyscus maniculatus out of a trap 4 ft from my bed. The rest of the day until 3:30 PM spent preparing skins. At 3:50 I went with Dr. Hall to Yerington and got hunting
