The second station was an area in Mason Valley 5 miles north of Pine Grove 5300 ft., Mineral Co., Nevada
Here I set out 32 traps in similar habitat as in 1st station.
June 30 4:30 A.M. we set out again to the stations above at the point 12 mi. E. of Wellington, 5000 ft., Lyon Co., Nevada
I took four Dipodomys microps levis and 13 Pergnathus panaminticus
out of 48 trap. 17 caught. 9 others were tripped.
At the second station, as at top of page, I took one Dipodomys microps levis and seven Pergnathus longi-memberis panaminticus.
32 traps were set; eight had specimens;
5 were spring but had no specimens
although these showed struggle, 4 had bait taken but were not springing.
ants were present in two cases but not in others. One trap had a tail in it and the next trap had a mouse without a tail.
Worked putting up specimens and writing up notes. Did not put out traps in P.M..
July 1 We packed and were ready to move by 9 A.M. We took a north leading
