June 28 In addition to the Entamias minimus scrutator caught last night the first part of the trap line (on the valley floor) yielded 6 Peromyscus maniculatus 2 Dipodomys lacoygens and one Perognathus parvus. On the hill side the traps yielded 6 Peromyscus maniculatus and one Dipodomys lacoygens. In one trap on lower portion that I missed in the morning and found by Palmer was a Perognathus parvus badly eaten by ants.
At 1 P.M. I went over the upper trap line and found in traps, one Entamias minimus scrutator mm. and one Callospermophilus lateralis this part of the line was on the northwest facing hillside in PiƱon pine and Artemisia The traps being set in open clear spots.
At 6 P.M. I checked this same line again and found one adult Entamias minimus scrutator. I continued the line of traps up to the top of the ridge and down a draw toward the camp site. No change in plant life.
