Brade 1934
June 27 cont.
Starting at 4:30 P.M. I placed a trap line down the valley, beginning at a point 500 yards north northeast of the camp site continuing down the valley but not following the stream bed for 3/4 of a mile with 22 mouse traps at this point (elevation 7150 ft.), I turned sharply to the southeast. I continued in a nearly straight line with 20 gov't.-mousetraps and two rat traps up the hillside 3/4 of a mile to an elevation of 7450 ft. On the first part of the line the traps were set in open spots free from plant life. These areas were located among Chryso-thamnus with a few scattered sages, wild currant, and an occasional piñon pine.
The traps yielded one Entermias minus scrutator before 6:30 P.M.
The last part of the trap line extended thru piñon pines and sage brush with occasional currant. The soil had more rocks and some had signs of cracked piñon nut shells.
