Brode 1934 Thomomys bottae 3mi. S Schurg, 4100 ft., Mineral County, Nevada July 8 noted workings along the now dry irrigation canal and set traps (2 sets) July 9 AM one specimen found in the bank of a (dry) irrigation canal traps had been set in each direction from workings in main tunnel. Reset traps and set out more. Found spadefoot toad while digging out one gopher hill. At noon found another gopher in traps. In the evening I again visited the traps and got another gopher. July 10 Visited gopher trap in the morning found one specimen and made 3 more sets. Further visits during the day failed to yield specimens. July 18 Morgans Ranch, 5700 ft., E. Walker R., Mineral Co., Nev. found one gopher in 4 sets in alfalfa field. July 19 found one more specimen in alfalfa field Palmer found two in his side of the field. July 20 E. Walker R., 5050 ft.; 2 mi NW Morgans Ranch, Mineral Co., Nev found one specimen from three sets in gravel-sandy soil. One other set showed workings but no gopher!
