Dec. 28.
Yerington, Lyon Co., Nevada. Walker River
Today I saw four Raccoon skins that were owned by Mr. Pearl Dun. Mr. Dun told me that he had caught & killed them on the East Fork of the Walker river at the Morgan ranch. He stated that one was killed in the day time this fall (nov.) as it was seen eating apples in an orchard near the house. 3 of the skins appeared to be of juvenile animals & one skin of an adult. He stated that the skeletons were thrown into the chickens. I went to the Morgan ranch (lower ranch) & the "hired help" said they had seen the skeletons about the buildings or orchard but a search by me & employees of the ranch failed to produce the skeletons.
