J.H. Alcorn 1938 Ursus 2 1 mi. E. Zephyr Cove, Douglas Co., Nevada. July 10, 1938 Today I noted numerous fresh bear tracks in the heavy timber along the stream. I followed the tracks of the animal for about one half a mile but was never able to see the bear although fresh feces were noted and on one occasion I could hear something run through the brush and it was possibly the bear or some other large animal. This bear had been feeding in the vicinity because old & fresh tracks were plentiful & I noted several places where a bear had dug a few small holes & turned a log over.
