J.R. Alcorn 1938 Tadarida mexicana City Hall, Fallon, Churchill Co., Nevada. July 16 While waiting for my wife to come out of a beauty parlor I heard a sudden noise that sounded like many bats. I looked in the direction of the City Hall and there were dozens of bats coming out of the crevices in the newly constructed building. I observed these bats on 17 occasions from July 16 to August 18. Mostly about sundown to dark. During the day these bats were rather quiet. on many occasions appeared to be suffering from the heat as their mouths were open, showing their teeth, & they were panting. On each occasion just before dark & after sundown, before flying from the building a squeeking noise was (loudly) heard. After being rather quiet all day they apparently talked over the situations and then many bats took flight amid squeaks from the bats in crevices and those on wing. Within five minutes all bats (about 50 to 100) had left the building amid loud squeaks & then all was quiet until the following evening
