Antrozous pallidus
9 mi. E + 9 mi. N Gerington, 4700', Lyon Co., Nev.
Dec. 27, 1939.
See Myotis spec. acct. for same mine.
Two of these bats were found 120 + 138 ft. from the mouth of an old mine. Both were in short erevicies and one was pulled from the hole by a stick which was placed near the bat. As the animal bit the stick I gave a quick pull & before the animal was able to release its hold it was pulled out. Both bats ears were erect, eyes open and they were unable to fly and all movements made by them were slow. And a hissing sound was made as I placed them in a sack. The temperature in the mine was 60° F. I took them home & they became active & crawled about the cage as they became warm.
