Bats
December 30, 1939. Washoe Co., Nevada.
Today in company with Dr. Lundell Chapman & Vernon Mills I
inspected two old mines
about 3 to 6 mi. NE of Reno, Nev.
in search of bats. None
were found. The mines
were both over 100 ft. in
length.
(3) Three mine tunnels over
100 ft. in length along
the Truckee River Canyon
about 4 to 8 miles E of Reno,
Washoe Co., Nev. were also
inspected for bats. None
were found. Although
the tunnels appeared to
be suitable for bats,
and it appeared that few
people visited the mines,
no bats or evidence
of them was found.
