J.R. Alcorn 1940 Thamnophis Alcorn Ranch, Ammi W Fallon, Churchill Co., Nevada Aug. 28, 1940 As I walked along the drain ditch this morning I heard a distressing noise. At first I thought something at a distance was making the noise, but looking down near the waters edge I saw a leopard frog that was being swallowed by a water snake. The frogs posterior end was in the garter snakes mouth and with the frog half eaten it was (the frog) uttering a pitiful sound (possibly for help) with its mouth that was sticking out of the snakes mouth.
