J.R. Alcorn 1939. Antilocapra americana Americana antelocarpa 5 mi. S. Nyala, 4600 ft., Nye Co., Nevada. Aug.22. Two antelope ran across the road at this point. The desert is very flat with low brush and one is able to see an animal of this size for many hundreds of yards. I shot one of these Antelope and Wm Longhurst prepared it as a specimen. We took the following information Weight 105 lbs. ♀ 1270-80-440-155; Stomach contents chewed beyond field recognition except four or five parts of Cottonwood tree leaves were distinguishable. Correction = leaves of some tree, probably Cottonwood, as these trees were growing along Big Creek and in other places where water is available and probably these green leaves were found and eaten when the animal went for water. Above animal is original number 480 w/m Longhurst. Museum of Vert. Zool. Number 88135 Skull + skin and skeleton. This ♀ apparently did not bear young this year.
